Pete Greig is the bewildered founder of the global 24-7 Prayer movement, the Senior Pastor of Emmaus Rd church, and a director of Waverley Abbey. He is also an award-winning author and host of the Lectio365 daily devotional, used by more than 250,000 people.

Pete is married to Sammy, a professional counsellor with whom he co-leads Emmaus Rd church. Together they’ve lived in four cities on two continents, planted five churches, and accidentally instigated the 24-7 Prayer movement which is now in more than half the nations on earth. Most importantly they have also conspired to raise two wonderful, adult sons.

Pete and Sammy now split their time between ‘Scallywag’, a 60’ barge on the river near Guildford, England, and a rambling, old house perched on an island clifftop in which they host and mentor leaders from around the world.

As members of The Order of the Mustard Seed Pete and Sammy are currently restoring its Mother House, Waverley Abbey; turning one of the oldest places of prayer in England into a contemporary centre of Encounter, Education and Enterprise.

In addition to his writing and speaking, Pete has produced a number of popular training resources including The Prayer Course which has been downloaded more than 3 million times, and the Aidan’s Way pilgrimage series, which follows Pete on a 300 mile trek in the footsteps of the 7th century Celtic saint Aidan, from the Scottish island of Iona to the Holy Isle of Lindisfarne.

Pete is an Ambassador for the NGO Tearfund, an occasional lecturer at St Mellitus Theological College, and a convenor of the annual Wildfires Festival which gathers thousands to contend for the next Great Awakening.

Pete loves nothing more than mooching around art galleries and junk shops, exploring the Great Outdoors, building things in his workshop, and following the vagaries of Portsmouth FC.
